Sometimes, a firm or company may have a specific person in mind but will still have to advertise and/or do interviews in order to follow labor laws or company policy. It also is not at all unusual for some supervisors to fear for the safety of their own positions and/or power. After all, no one wants to lose their job to a new hire who does better work than they do, or lose out on a promotion for the same reason.<br><b>References : </b><br>Personal experiences and those of some of my friends and family members.
